Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 13 Aug 2026

This Privacy Policy takes effect on 16 Aug 2026.

Introduction

“Imbalance: Trading Journal” (“Imbalance”, “Imbalance App”, or “the App”) is a Mac and iPad application that helps traders and investors journal and review closed trades. It is offered by Impressive Apps S.R.L., a company registered in the Republic of Moldova (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we process information when you use the App. The App is offered on the App Store in selected territories outside the European Union and the European Economic Area. It is not offered in EU/EEA App Store storefronts. Core journal features work offline and do not require an account. Optional usage analytics and crash reporting are off by default and run only if you enable Usage Analytics in Settings. By using the App, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. Enabling Usage Analytics is a separate, voluntary choice.

1. Information We Collect

Trade and journal data

Your trades, trading plans, and analytics you generate inside the app are stored locally on your device. We do not collect, access, or receive your trade or financial data on our servers.

Optional usage analytics and crash reporting (off by default)

If you turn on Usage Analytics in Settings, we process limited technical and usage information through Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics) to improve stability and understand feature use. This information is not used for cross-app or cross-website advertising, and we do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA). Under Apple’s App Privacy definitions, the categories below are disclosed as “Data Not Linked to You” and “Tracking” = No. Under applicable data protection laws, some of this information (for example, an app-instance identifier) may still be considered personal data.

When Usage Analytics is enabled, Firebase may collect:

We do not collect your name, email address, Apple ID, or account credentials through the journal. If you email us (for example at privacy@imbalance.app), we process your email address and the content of your message so we can respond.

2. How We Use Your Information

Improve App Performance: When Usage Analytics is enabled, we use crash reports and diagnostic data (collected via Google Firebase) to fix bugs and improve stability.

Enhance User Experience: When Usage Analytics is enabled, limited usage data helps us understand which features are popular and how users interact with the app, allowing us to make improvements.

Analytics and Crash Reporting Controls: Usage analytics and crash reporting are off by default. You can turn them on at any time in Settings under Usage Analytics. Your preference is stored locally on your device. Analytics collection stops immediately when disabled. Crash reporting is also disabled in settings; due to how crash handlers operate on Apple platforms, crash collection fully stops on the next app launch.

Support: We use contact emails you send us to answer questions and handle privacy requests.

Legal and Compliance Purposes: We may use your information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal obligations.

3. Data Storage and Retention

Locally Stored Data: Your trade data is stored only on your device. We do not access, store, or transfer this data to our servers or any third party.

Deletion: When you remove trade records or trading plans from Settings, deletion happens locally on your device and takes effect immediately. We do not keep a copy of deleted trade data on our servers.

Crash Data and Analytics: Data collected through Google Firebase (crash logs, diagnostic logs, and usage metrics) is stored on Google’s servers. We retain Firebase analytics and crash data only as needed for product improvement and legal compliance.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. The only third party with access to limited analytics or crash information is Google Firebase, and only when you have opted in.

For more information on how Google handles your data, please refer to their Privacy Policy.

California (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell personal information and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Optional Firebase analytics are used for app functionality and analytics only, and only after you opt in. To make a California privacy request, contact privacy@imbalance.app.

Website: This policy covers the Imbalance app. The marketing site at https://imbalance.app is intended to operate without advertising cookies. If we use cookies or similar technologies on the website, we will disclose them there.

5. Your Rights

As your data is stored locally, you have full control over it. You can delete your trade data at any time from Settings (Remove Trade Records or Remove Trading Plans); deletion is local to your device and is immediate. We do not retain copies of deleted trade data on our servers. You can also delete all app data by uninstalling the app or clearing its local storage.

You can enable or disable usage analytics and crash reporting at any time in Settings → Usage Analytics. Analytics collection stops immediately when disabled, and crash reporting fully stops on the next app launch. Your preference is stored locally on your device.

We design analytics and crash reporting so they do not include trade contents, symbols, P&L, or plan text. Diagnostic events may include limited technical error text. Device and app-instance identifiers used by Firebase may constitute personal data under applicable law even when they are not linked to your name or Apple ID.

For information processed via Firebase after you opt in, you may request access, correction, deletion, or restriction by emailing privacy@imbalance.app. We will reasonably assist using the tools available to us in Firebase/Google consoles. Where consent is the legal basis for optional analytics, you may withdraw consent at any time by turning Usage Analytics off in Settings; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country of residence, where applicable law provides this right. Turning Usage Analytics off stops new collection as described above; it does not instantly erase historical Firebase records already stored by Google.

Uninstalling the app deletes local trade data on your device; it does not automatically delete historical Firebase records associated with prior opt-in sessions.

6. International Transfers and Legal Basis (Analytics)

If you enable Usage Analytics, Impressive Apps S.R.L. is the controller of that processing. Where required by applicable data protection law, the legal basis is your consent (you can withdraw anytime by turning Usage Analytics off). Firebase is provided by Google; data may be processed in the United States and other countries. Where required, international transfers rely on Google’s applicable transfer mechanisms (including Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent transfer addenda, as applicable) as described in Google’s Firebase/Google Cloud privacy documentation: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy

Support emails are processed to respond to you (legitimate interests and/or steps at your request, as applicable). Local journal data is processed on your device under your control, we are not the recipient of that data.

Impressive Apps S.R.L. is established in the Republic of Moldova. We do not offer Imbalance App on EU/EEA App Store storefronts.

7. Data Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data, including:

Encryption: Data transmitted between Imbalance App and Firebase is encrypted using industry-standard practices.

Secure Storage: Crash logs and usage metrics are stored in Google Firebase’s infrastructure.

While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security. We cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information.

8. Disclaimer on Financial Advice

Imbalance App is not a financial advisor. The journal, charts, metrics, and calculator are for informational purposes only and should not be considered professional financial advice. Users are strongly encouraged to consult with a licensed financial advisor before making any financial decisions. Impressive Apps S.R.L. is not responsible for any financial decisions or outcomes resulting from the use of the app. Users are solely responsible for their own investment choices and the associated risks.

9. Children’s Privacy

Imbalance App is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a user under 18, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or relevant legal requirements. The latest version of the policy will always be available on our app or website, with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
